Job Title: Drywall Taper (Noc: 73102) Employer: AKAL DRYWALL & CONTRACTING LTD. Employer Business Address: 4, 9836-47 AVENUE NW, Edmonton, AB, T6E 5P3 Salary: $65,520 annually / 35 hours per week Vacancies: 3 positions Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time Start date: As soon as possible Job requirements Languages: English Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely. Work setting: Various locations Responsibilities Tasks: • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints • Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster • Clean and prepare surfaces • Cure freshly plastered surfaces • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required • Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry • Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms Additional information Work conditions and physical capabilities • Bending, crouching, kneeling • Hand-eye co-ordination • Physically demanding Weight handling • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Who can apply for this job?
