Work site environment • At heights • Dangerous • Outdoors Work setting • Residential Responsibilities Tasks • Determine type of glass, frames and material required • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements • Measure, mark and cut glass • Position and secure panes in frame • Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products • Install door, window and other hardware • Prepare shop drawings • Repair glass doors and other glass structures • Assemble, erect and dismantle scaffolding, rigging and hoisting equipment • Supervise other workers • Transport cases of glass • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages • Work from man-lift mobile equipment, cranes and other lifting equipment Experience and specialization Type of glass/materials • Acrylic plexiglass • Float glass • Mirrors • Sealed units Frame fabrication and installation • Aluminum framing members Installation specialization • Skylights and slope glazed installations • Curtain walls • X-ray glass • Walls and other interior areas (i.e. partitions) Additional information Security and safety • Basic security clearance • Driver's validity licence check Transportation/travel information • Valid driver's licence Work conditions and physical capabilities • Physically demanding • Handling heavy loads • Standing for extended periods Benefits Financial benefits • As per collective agreement Who can apply for this job?
