Additional Requirements: - Experience administering high-volume weekly payrolls. - Experience processing payroll for unionized employees and sub-contractors and applying collective agreement requirements. - Experience with computerized payroll systems and payroll software. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Job Duties - Coordinate and oversee the high-volume weekly payroll function across five related companies, including payroll for unionized employees in the construction sector. - Coordinate timekeeping information received from site and project personnel and ensure information is complete and accurate for weekly payroll processing. - Ensure union wage rates, overtime, vacation pay, deductions, benefits and other payroll requirements are correctly applied in accordance with applicable collective agreements. - Ensure the accurate and timely issuance of Records of Employment (ROEs) - Identify training needs and train workers in job duties and company policies. - Resolve work-related payroll problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality - Coordinate, assign and review the work of payroll clerks and general office clerks (approximately 3-4 employees) involved in payroll administration and related financial and administrative duties. - Co-ordinate payroll activities with other departments and the related companies, and submit progress and other reports to management or external parties as required. - Examine and verify the accuracy of payroll information and related financial records, and authorize routine payroll payments, credits, deductions and other transactions. - Establish work schedules and procedures for payroll - Ensure smooth operation of computer equipment, payroll software, and machinery - Perform same duties as workers supervised, as required Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities - Fast-paced environment - Tight deadlines - Attention to detail Personal Suitability - Accurate - Judgement How to Apply: Submit resume through link provided, or by email to email provided.
