There is no option to work remotely. Tasks and Responsibilties: • Calculate the cost of truck repairs and new parts if needed • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions • Address customers' complaints or concerns • Mountain driving expertise • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy • Load and unload goods • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment • Pay and receive payments for goods • Perform brake adjustments • Perform emergency roadside repairs • Perform preventive maintenance • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : • Driver's License (Class 1 or A) Documentation knowledge: • Bill of lading • Driver logbook • Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip) Type of trucking and equipment: • Flatbed • Tractor-trailer Communication systems experience: • Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment Security and safety: • Criminal record check • Driving record check (abstract) • Drug test Transportation/travel information: • Willing to travel cross-border • Willing to travel for extended periods Weight handling: • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Personal suitability: • Flexibility • Organized • Reliability • Team player • Hardworking • Patience Health benefits: • Dental plan • Health care plan Who can apply for this job?
