• Interpreting structural blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols • Performing layout, measuring, marking and verification of fabrication dimensions • Preparing materials using oxy-fuel cutting, plasma cutting and mechanical cutting methods • Fit-up and assembly of structural steel components such as beams, columns, plates, brackets, and frames • Tack welding and alignment prior to final welding • Performing multi-pass welding using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and TIG processes • Welding in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions, including confined spaces. • Grinding, finishing, and cleaning welds, including repairing worn parts of metal product by welding extra layers • Conducting visual inspection and ensuring dimensional accuracy of completed welds and repairing by welding if needed. • Rigging, hosting and material handling using overhead cranes and lifting equipment • Following all workplace safety standards and procedures • All other relevant tasks Job and Skill Requirements: • Secondary school diploma is required. • 7 months of welding experience required • Certificate from Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) or equivalent credential.
