Job Description: Wildcat operates a fleet of Bell 212, 412 and Astar AS350 B3e (H-125) mission-specific modified aircraft, and offers numerous services including fire suppression, heli-skiing, critical services and heavy-lift, both in West Kelowna and across Canada, as necessary. Wildcat has the resources to create solutions while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Our crews are focused on the most specialized helicopter operations in the industry. We are equipped to carry out both emergency services and recreational operations, including firefighting, critical services, heavy lifting, and heli-skiing. With the significantly reduced snowpack and forecasts calling for drought conditions this summer we anticipate a particularly challenging wildfire season in British Columbia and are looking to hire additional helicopter pilots to assist during wildfire season. Preference will be given to candidates with experience flying Astar AS350 B3e (H-125) and Bell 212/412 aircraft, Mountain Course and experience, and Precision Long Line experience. Overtime may be required, and shift times will vary (early morning, morning, day, evening and weekend.) Main Duties include: Act as Contact liaison between the Company and its customers as required in carrying out the Pilot’s duties or when requested by the Company Conduct pre-flight inspection of aircraft and check passenger and cargo distribution to ensure that weight and balance specifications are met Coordinate flight activities with ground crews and air-traffic control, inform crew members of flight and test procedures and direct activities of aircraft crew during flights Contact control towers for takeoff clearances, arrival instructions and other information Fly Astar AS350 B3e (H-125) and Bell 212/412 helicopters Planning and timely completion of all scheduled and unscheduled flight assignments Safe and competent operation of all Company aircraft, vehicles and equipment assigned to the employee as Pilot in Command Follow emergency procedures to compensate for equipment malfunction or failure Make in-flight repairs, such as replacing fuses and adjusting instruments Monitor operation of engine and aircraft systems during flight Conduct in-flight tests and monitor functioning of aircraft equipment and systems during flights Maintain communications with flight dispatchers and weather forecasters and respond to and report in-flight emergencies and malfunctions Record equipment malfunctions and corrective actions taken during flight Perform post-flight inspections Report required repairs to ground maintenance personnel Prepare flight evaluation reports Routine administrative assignments as directed by the Company’s Executive Management, Operations Manager and/or Chief Pilot Perform at the highest level of professional expertise and conduct in all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s Operations Manual and Company Health and Safety Policy Employment Requirements: Graduation from a certified flying or aviation school is required Commercial Pilot Licence – rotors Mountain Course completion and experience Precision Long Line experience Category 1 Medical Certificate Minimum of 2000 flying hours Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills Exhibits sound judgment Team player Willingness to take initiative Commitment to high professional standards & safety Strong analytical skills High level of accuracy Customer-service oriented Strong work ethic Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment Work under pressure Physically demanding Combination of sitting, standing and walking Heavy workload Hand-eye coordination Prolonged sitting How to Apply: Email your resume and cover letter to wildcathelicopters@gmail.com, or use Job Bank’s Direct Apply feature No phone calls please.
