Hairstylist – Feathers Brow & Hair Studio - (Bedford, NS) Feathers Brow & Hair Studio is hiring a talented Hairstylist to join our Bedford location located at 620 Nine Mile Dr, Bedford, NS B4A0H4. We’re a busy, client-focused salon offering haircuts, colour, treatments and styling in a friendly, professional environment. ? Position Details Job title: Hairstylist Location: Bedford, NS (on-site, no remote work) Wage: $25.00 per hour Hours: 64–72 hours bi-weekly, full-time Employment type: Term or contract, full-time Schedule: Shift work, flexible hours, weekends, on-call, overtime as required Start date: As soon as possible Vacancy: 1 position ? Responsibilities Greet clients and provide outstanding on-site customer service Analyze hair and scalp condition and recommend appropriate treatments Cut and trim hair according to client instructions and preferences Suggest hairstyles that suit clients’ features and lifestyle Shampoo, condition and treat hair and scalp Provide hair treatments including waving, straightening, relaxing and tinting Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair Style hair: cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, blow-dry and finish looks Shave and trim beards and moustaches (where required) Provide scalp conditioning massages Book and manage appointments, perform receptionist duties Maintain and order supplies as needed Supervise 1–2 hairstylists or support staff when required ? Education & Credentials Education: College, CEGEP or other non?university certificate or diploma (1–2 years) in hairstyling or related field Experience: Experience an asset (newer stylists welcome if skilled and licensed) Required certifications: Hairstylist Licence from Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia Hairstylist Trade Certification Hairstylist Licence Barber licence is an asset ? Skills & Specializations Hair styling techniques: blow drying, braiding, iron waving/curling, permanents, extensions, twisting, locking, relaxing, spiking, pin curls, roller setting Colour techniques: bleach, dyes/tints, streaking/highlights ? Work Conditions Fast-paced salon environment Combination of sitting, standing and walking Standing for extended periods Repetitive tasks and high attention to detail required ? Personal Qualities Strong client focus and professional attitude Dependable and reliable Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills Flexible, good judgement, cooperative team player ?
