Job Description
Rainforces Ltd. is seeking skilled Bricklayers to join our team. As a Bricklayer, you will lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other similar materials to construct or repair walls, arches, chimneys, fireplaces, and other structures in accordance with blueprints and specifications. Key Job Duties: • Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required • Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry materials to construct and repair walls, partitions, arches, fireplaces, chimneys, and other structures • Measure, cut, and trim bricks and blocks to specification using hand and power tools • Install and repair refractory bricks • Restore, clean, and paint existing masonry structures • Ensure alignment, level, and plumb of structures using measuring tools • Follow building codes and workplace safety standards • Estimate materials, tools and equipment required for projects • Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing • Construct and install prefabricated masonry units • Build patios, garden walls and other decorative installations • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages • Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools • Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys andfireplaces • Lay radial bricks to build masonry shells of industrial chimneys • Lay or install firebricks to line industrial chimneys and smokestacks Work Conditions/Setting: • Construction • Commercial • Residential • Physically demanding • Handling heavy loads Requirements: • Ability to communicate in English • Completion of secondary school/high school • 7 months or less than 1 year of work experience • Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy construction materials Wage: $44.32/h Hours of Work: 40 h/week Full-Time/Permanent Employment Number of Vacancies: 2 If you meet the above requirements and are interested in joining our team as a Bricklayer, please submit your resume to mehriddin@rainforces.ca
