Job description Yuu Seafood Restaurant is now seeking a well experienced and passionate PASTRY CHEF to join our amazing culinary team. As a Pastry CHEF, you will be responsible for leading a team that will produce high quality products, coming up with new pastry ideas, and decorating cakes professionally and creatively. preparing and baking a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods. If you have a strong background in the food industry, possess excellent culinary skills, and have a passion for creating delicious pastries, we would love to hear from you. Responsibilities • Prepare and bake a variety of pastry items including cakes, pies, desserts, and breads, ensuring high standards of quality, taste, and presentation • Accommodate and handle guest special requests and guest allergies to ensure guest health and satisfaction • Estimate food requirements and maintain optimal labor costs throughout service • Create and test new recipes for pastries and other desserts to enhance menus and engage customers • Collaborate closely with other members of the pastry team to ensure efficient workflow, priority of orders, and timely delivery of pastry items during busy service periods • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking and presentation of food • Lead/Instruct individuals • Design, arrange and prepare food for special events, such as banquets, birthday party, weddings • Supervise activities of pastry cooks and other kitchen staff • Assist in monitoring inventory levels and placing orders for supplies as needed, minimizing waste and ensuring freshness • Arrange for baking equipment purchases and repairs • Contribute creative ideas to menu development, suggesting improvements and innovations to ensure food meets quality standards and enhance the • Provide guidance and support to junior pastry cooks and trainees in pastry items preparation techniques and equipment handling, helping them develop skills and knowledge Qualifications/ Successful candidates will: • Energetic with a passion for baking and pastry • A minimum of 2 years’ professional baking or pastry/desserts preparation experience in a comparable business is required • Experience and knowledge of Cantonese cuisine and dim sum, is a strong asset • Experience in high volume kitchen is a strong asset • Ability to supervise 3-4 people • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment • Able to deal with tight deadlines • Ability to work repetitive tasks and stay motivated • Strong attention to detail • Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time • Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight • Personal suitability: Leadership, Dependability, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Flexibility, Initiative, Organized, Reliability, Team player, Client focus, Hardworking, Collaborative Education: • College/CEGE • Graduation from a Baking and Pastry Arts program Language: • English Job Types: • Full-time, Permanent Salary: • $36.00 per hour Expected hours: • 35-40 hours per week Benefits: • Uniform is provided, Free meals while working To Apply: • Please send your resume along with a cover letter by email to hiring.yuuseafood@gmail.com • We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview.
