Employer: Punjab Sweet House (No.1) Ltd Job Position: Chef (Indian Sweet Maker) Salary: $36.75/Hourly Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Language: English Start Date of Employment (Approx.): As soon as possible Minimum Education: High School Positions Available: 1 Job Location(s): #4-12818, 72 Avenue Surrey, BC V3W 2M9 Experience: 3 years to 5 years Education: High school graduation Job Duties: • Design, develop, and test new and innovative Indian dessert recipes to enhance the menu and attract customers. • Prepare a variety of traditional Indian sweets (e.g., Rasgulla, Jalebi, Barfi, Laddu, Gulab Jamun, Soan Papdi) using authentic techniques and high-quality ingredients. • Experiment with modern fusion desserts (e.g., chocolate barfi, mango rasmalai cheesecake, paan truffle balls) while maintaining Indian flavor profiles. • Customize sweet items based on seasonal ingredients, customer feedback, or special occasions. • Oversee daily kitchen operations specific to the sweet/dessert section, ensuring smooth workflow and quality control. • Monitor cooking times, ingredient ratios, and presentation standards to maintain consistent taste and appearance. • Lead and train assistant sweet maker cooks in proper cooking techniques, hygiene, and plating. • Ensure inventory management for ingredients like khoya, ghee, sugar, dry fruits, saffron, and flours. • Collaborate with event teams for catering orders, wedding sweet trays, and festival-themed offerings. • Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards in the sweet-making area. • Track feedback and sales performance of new creations and adjust recipes accordingly. • Stay updated on dessert trends in Indian and global markets to bring fresh ideas to the kitchen.
