Job details • Location: Kelowna, BC • Wage: $25.00/hour • Hours: 35 hours per week • Permanent, Full-Time Position • Shifts: Day, early morning, morning, evening, weekend Overview: Languages English Education • College, HSW (Human Service Worker) or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years Experience • 1 to less than 7 months Work setting • Group home • Work in persons served home • Various locations in community • On site • Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely. Responsibilities Tasks • Prepare reports or case histories • Appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services • Plan rehabilitation programs with offenders • Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs • Conduct follow-up assessments • Develop, co-ordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community • Housekeeping activities • Food preparation • Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses • Implement substance abuse treatment programs • Implement behaviour management programs • Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs • Assist clients/guests with special needs • Accompany clients to appointments and social outings • Interacting with individuals, their families/advocates, co-workers and the community respectfully • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with individuals • Providing support and education in social interactions, communicating, healthcare, coping, community awareness, etc. • Facilitating community inclusion • Liaising with the support team, community services, professionals and others • Preparing documentation objectively • Working as part of a team in case management • Participate in the development and maintenance of recreational and social activities • Attend regular team meetings Credentials Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses • Mandt System training • Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate • First Aid Certificate • CPR Certificate Additional information Security and safety • Criminal record check Transportation/travel information • Own vehicle • Valid driver's licence Work conditions and physical capabilities • Ability to work independently • Attention to detail Personal suitability • Efficient interpersonal skills • Excellent oral communication • Interpersonal awareness • Judgement • Values and ethics • Client focus • Excellent written communication • Flexibility • Initiative • Team player • Organized
